Custom web workflows
Forms, administrative tools, and application behavior that need more than a standard page template or plugin setting.
PHP, Laravel, Composer & custom APIs
PHP powers both custom web applications and the behavior behind many content and commerce platforms. The useful engineering work connects a request to the right business rules, data, and response—and keeps those connections understandable as a system grows.
A PHP project may be a standalone application, a framework-based system, or custom functionality inside WordPress. The starting point is understanding the environment and the behavior the business needs, then choosing a structure that the next developer can follow.

Custom PHP within websites and commerce systems, connected to their existing hooks, content models, and publishing conventions.
Endpoints and integrations that move information between a website, its database, and external business services.
PHP handles work on the server, including processing requests, applying rules, reading data, and generating responses. In an established application, I trace how those responsibilities are currently organized before changing a template, handler, or shared function.
Laravel is a PHP framework with conventions for routing, controllers, validation, and data access. Those conventions can give a custom application a consistent structure. Framework choice should account for the existing codebase, deployment environment, and the team maintaining it.
Composer manages PHP libraries and their dependencies at the project level. Package versions, autoloading, and compatibility become part of maintaining the application. A dependency update deserves review of both the library change and the application paths that rely on it.
An API exposes a defined way for another component to request or submit information. Clear input rules, predictable responses, and useful error handling make integrations easier to support. I look at both the endpoint and the code consuming it when investigating a failure.
WordPress supplies an application lifecycle, hooks, and content APIs. Custom functionality should work with those conventions. This makes it easier to understand what belongs in a theme, what should be reusable functionality, and how a change affects editorial or frontend behavior.
I trace requests through routing, validation, business rules, and data access. That identifies whether a change belongs in a handler, shared application code, or an integration—and which workflows need checking.

My Lead Technical Architect role included custom PHP applications alongside Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress, and infrastructure responsibilities. It illustrates how application decisions connect with the wider business platform.
